Our Story: From a Kitchen Table to a Regional Lifeline
In 1997, a nurse in Marshfield gathered a group of friends around her kitchen table, She had seen firsthand how many people in her clinic were being forced to choose between their healthcare and their rent, and she refused to look away. That night, they pooled their own money to bridge the gap—and Reproductive Freedom Fund was born.
Driven by passion
Nearly 30 years later, that "kitchen table" spirit has evolved into a professionalized lifeline for the northern half of our state. Established to ensure that financial hardship never dictates a person’s medical needs, we provide critical funding for residents across Northcentral and Northeastern Wisconsin who are seeking abortion care but cannot afford the full cost of a procedure or clinic visit.
Today, our impact reaches across 31 counties and has supported over 4,000 individuals in their pursuit of bodily autonomy. Beyond abortion funding, we offer specialized grants for long-acting reversible contraception (LARC)—such as IUDs and implants—and emergency contraception, ensuring a full spectrum of reproductive support. Through strategic clinic partnerships and the unwavering generosity of our donors, we continue to prove that in Central Wisconsin, no one has to navigate their healthcare journey alone.
